The New York Times - May 4, 2005 -
Let’s Make A Deal - Secrets and strategies from the queen of storefronts. The Voice.

HER name may have the ring of heavenly virtue, but Faith Hope Consolo’s stock in trade is earthly luxury. Ms. Consolo is the chairwoman for retail real estate at Prudential Douglas Elliman, and the city’s highest-profile practitioner of the art of matching stores with storefronts. In Manhattan, where she does about 75 percent of her work, Ms. Consolo made her name by bringing luxury retailers to the city, often from abroad. Over the last two decades, she has helped turn the Flatiron district into a shopping area, bringing Ann Taylor, Sephora, Paul Smith and Zara, among others, to the neighborhood. She was a consultant to the New York State Economic Development Corporation in devising retail plans for Times Square, and represented the landlord in Toys “R” Us’s lease on its 100,000-square-foot store on Broadway near 44th Street.

Mad for Madison – Now known as the Jewel Coast, it’s the place to be dazzled.

“Madison Avenue has become the thoroughfare for every national and international designer,” observes Faith Hope Consolo, the Chairman of the Retail Leasing and Sales Division of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate and a titan in her field. “Purveyors of true luxe – any brand that wants to distinguish itself – gravitate to Madison Avenue. Tiffany and Harry Winston, mainstays of Fifth Avenue, are looking to “colonize” on Madison Avenue, mach as Bulgari already has.” And jeweler Judith Ripka has two shops on Madison.

New York Post, February 20, 2008 - Commercial Real Estate
The City's Top Movers & Shakers

We’re a city of shoppers that attracts tourists and greenbacks from around the globe. Retail stores are economic generators and also create exciting streetscapes and destinations. The Meatpacking District was simply a blighted industrial area without the luxury shops while Times Square was simply an area of ill repute. Now, thanks to these folks, we can find M&M’s and good eats.
