Kate grew up in the New York metropolitan area and has lived in Manhattan, Queens and three neighborhoods in Brooklyn. She was an arts major, physics minor and Academic All-American in volleyball at Colgate University who graduated and worked as an entertainer, artist and interior designer all over New York.
